It is already on October 9th that the Village Market in Cascaus will receive the second challenge of 'The Girls on Track Karting Challenge', an initiative that aims, with the support of the Cascais Municipal Council, to promote motor sport to the public female.
The Girls on Track Karting Challenge is a go-kart competition for youngsters with or without experience in the sport. It consists of making a journey as fast as possible and stand out among the others, not only for speed, but also for determination and motivation. The first event happened in Matosinhos last May and was a real success in terms of membership and results.
At the end of this second edition will be chosen the three best to represent Portugal across borders and to integrate the European team.
Portugal was one of the eight countries selected by the FIA and the European Union's Erasmus program to develop this project.
Entries for this second edition are already open here, this is a project aimed at young girls between the ages of 13 and 18 (made in 2018), and will allow the top ranked players to compete in the grand final against the drivers selected from other countries at an event organized by the FIA in Le Mans, France. However, the FIA and the European Union have decided to be more comprehensive and enable young women between the ages of 10 and 12 to participate.
